Always a writer, Glennette Tilley Turner taught in the Chicago Public School System, the Maywood-Melrose Park Public School System and the Wheaton-Warrenville Public School System. She also earned her master’s degree in History and Juvenile Literature at Goddard College.
During her teaching career, Turner turned skits into books of biographies. Later, she began reserach on the Underground Railroad which became another series of books. She is also a consultant and lecturer on the Underground Railroad.
Now retired from teaching, Turner spends her time researching, writing and lecturing. For a more detailed biography, see the Illinois Center for the Book.
