Several of our members were part of the Oswego Library Literary Festival on October 1. While you couldn't say book sales were exactly brisk for everyone, events like these can also be great networking opportunities. In attendance were Jerilyn Willin, Louise Brass, Kate Gingold, Patricia Rockwell, Luisa Buehler and Wayne Turmel.
There were more than 30 authors showcasing books of all genres. Steady rain in the afternoon may have kept some folks from visiting the library, but those that did come into the library were interested in chatting. Many were aspring writers themselves who had come to hear one of the two presentations that were being given during the fest.
Some good marketing of the event was done by Oswego and several of the authors also promoted the event. As authors, we always need to promote our own events rather than hope someone else is doing it. Ways to do that could be a topic of discussion at an upcoming meeting!
